I've always thought about taking a die grinder with some belt whips and cleaning up the inside and outside of the intake plenum to a smooth finish. Then paint that blue.

I had never heard it possible to replace the pan gasket without lifting the engine a tad. I had mine done a couple years ago by a local small town shop..great guys, would trust them more than anyone, and they actually care about their customers...anyway to change the gasket cost me almost a grand to have it done. Went ahead and had it done...the pan was about to rust through, I just didn't have the time, nor did I really want to do it. Only thing I wish I would have done while the pan was off, was go ahead and put on a new oil pump. Not having any problems with the pump...but will have to drop the pan again if it ever needs changed out. Anyone know if oil pumps are ever a common problem on our rigs? Haven't really heard.

No BS changing mine only cost me $18 for gasket and a few busted knuckles and a scuff in my pride for putting it on backwards the first time lol. It's not by no means easy to do but I'm prob the furthest thing from a mech. On this forum and 3 months later not a drop has leaked. If I wouldn't have broke the first one would have taken me 4hrs.

New radiator, plugs & wires, distributor cap & rotor, PCV valve, fuel filter, oil & filter change, new shocks all around, new drivers door and drivers side fender, bondo the pass side fender, undercoating, bedliner and finally paint. Might look into trying to level it out but I kinda dig the little bit of rake she has.

Found out from a ford mechanic of 42 years that my idle is adjusted down even though in park and neutral it idles at 2000rpm (I put a tach in) and in drive and reverse at about 13-1500 rpm. He said with it being a built motor with bigger injectors an all it going to idle high
