Just for example of how much of the bumpers structure and strength is still in it..i can stand on the bumper right below the headlight and it doesn't move. I'm 6.5 and 240 pounds.

Personally I would get some type of bumper mount grille guard and rather than simply bolting it on beef if up, make it part of the bumper. Then as someone else said make disconnects for bumper swapping

That's a good idea! You mean weld a bush guard to this bumper then mount lights to it?

Yeah. Exactly lol I don't like bumper mounts usually but if you actually make it PART of the bumper it's a lot stronger. Also I would find a stronger way to mount the bumper to the frame. In not a huge fan of the factory bumper mounts in these trucks

I just might do that! My local junk yard has
A truck with a old grill guard on it. I'm going to give it a look over and see if it's usable.

Lucky. I can't find a grille guard around here for the life of me. I'm not driving 4 hours to pick one up either. Are there a lot available there?? There aren't a whole lot of trucks around here

The one im thinking of is on a 89 f150 but if I'm going to weld it on it will probably work. That's the only one I saw for older fords. The place I go has tones of 80-96 fords!

With a little modification any grille guard for a full size truck can fit. And you seem to have the ability it would take lol

Ya that's right! I have been welding/fabricating for quite a while now.
