If a previous owner hasn't changed things, there should be three pumps - one low-pressure pump in each tank, and a high-pressure pump on the driver-side frame rail about under where the brake pedal is. IIRC, the '90 models were the first year with the high-pressure pumps in the tank without the pump on the frame rail.

Hmmm, it would be unusual, but you might be fighting two problems here. As far as tapping on the distributor, suggest a bad connection somewhere - like the coil wire isn't making good contact with the cap, the carbon button isn't transferring to the rotor button, or something's happened with the PIP inside the dizzy or the TFI plugged in outside the dizzy.

Still puzzled by not hearing the fuel pumps, but if it got to running after the dizzy tapping - pffft, call it good. :-)

lol I was tempted to call it good but decided what if I get to driving it somewhere and next time it breaks down somewhere other than home!?

I was wondering if the igntion module connected to the distributor was causing issues or maybe if there is a ground wire inside the distributor that was shorting out. Which is way outside of my limited know how

An ignition module not mounted right or not having good contact or even just faulty could cause that problem. The thing is, you are not going to know what the problem is until you find it. You need to preform the tests or find someone who can. Or just drive it and hope for the best but realize it might leave you high and dry one day.

Can you pull codes? That might tell you something.

Sounds like you have a spark issue then. Starting fluid would have given you some sort of result if there was a spark in there. When you tapped on the distributor, you probably moved around what ever connection is loose in there. Replace your distributor and see if that helps. They aren't too expensive, maybe around 90 bucks, most will come with a new cap and rotor, you just drop them in, adjust timing and tighten the clamp.
