resistor needs to have ground or its no good - when I installed them for my led tail lamps I had to splice one end into the power and one into the ground, like so:

NO THAT'S WRONG. The resistor goes from one side of the ALT light (with the battery icon) to the other side; NEITHER side of that light is "ground" or "negative". The light is inside the cluster (dotted box in the lower Right corner of this diagram); both the light bulb AND the resistor (in parallel) simply connect the 2 wires:

It's wired the way BLDTruth's pic shows, but it's NOT the way he explained.

Yea I kinda got the drift. Thx guys.

As soon as I get the time to make it out to the garage I'll give it a shot.

For now I'm recuperating from this past snow storm. 15-17 hour days is killing me. At least until the paycheck comes in.

Big Block funds......... maybe.
