Default My truck is posessed!!

I was driving the truck today, I have owned this truck for probably 300 miles now.. Been driving it ALOT more than expected, life prior to owning a truck must of sure been rough because I dont know how I ever got by without it haha!!

To get to the point, driving down the road nothing out of the the norm, didn't even hit a bump or anything and my wipers turn on.. The just keep doing their think, I pull over and start messing with the switch and then end up shutting off after a couple minutes.. Driving down the road it happens again..

I am thinking lose connection, but how does this make them turn on when in the off position?

And its turning onto the LOW speed (not delayed at all either)

Any ideas where to start checking out for issues?

Something's completing the circuit. I'd suspect the switch. There's a relay & motor control module, but it's got to go through the switch to get there.

Thinkin about a road trip to Ravensdale. How's the weather?

I am assuming there is no way to disassemble the switch, correct? I would just replace it and hope it works?

I was taking a look at it trying to figure out how to get it apart but didnt see anything that looks like it actually came apart.

Any continuity other that A-B, D-E in the off position,.... "Huston, we have a problem!"(If it's an interval type rotational switch. There is also a slide type switch/ don't know which one you have/ I've got the diagram for that too)

Whatever connection for the hot in, if continuity to the switch ground w/ switch in the off position is apparent, thats not good.

The switch is the cheapest & easiest of possible causes, other than wires making contact outside the switch. That would be cheaper, but sometimes harder to find.

So hows the weather? I think your on the same latitude as Ravensdale, where I'm going. Trying to decide weather to load the harley for the trip too.

the problem with testing for intermittent problems is that they are intermittent. i'd replace the switch and see what happens

Default Possessed!

I dont think any one here that doent have a possessed truck. But anyway, the delay might be the wiper delay computer switch box thingie under the dash, I had one go bad, I had no delay but the wipers worked.

Ain't that the truth!

I don't think he's missing the delay. The wipers just come on by themselves w/ the switch in the off position. Like it was set on low.

10-4. Might be the mechanism in the switch is loose or bad, the jarring might be making the switch turn the wipers on.
