HELP! How to release stuck RABS on side of road?
My RABS valve is clogged up and has become stuck, dragging the rear brakes. The truck doesn’t move when in Drive. I’ve disconnected the RABS module so that if I get the brakes unstuck it won’t engage again.
How can I release the rear brakes on the side of the road? If I crack a bleeder on the rear would that work? Release the spring on the back of the RABS?
Yes I’m positive it’s the valve. I just want to release them to make it the 6miles home without overheated the drums. I’ve got a rebuilt unit waiting…

How exactly did you diagnose that the RABS valve is the problem? Yes, opening either rear bleeder would release the pressure in both rear cylinders (assuming no other problems).

Ok great, thanks Steve.
I had this issue prior. After driving for a while RABS and Brake lights would come on during braking. Pedal would feel like it built pressure at half the travel as before. Brakes would start dragging.
I left it overnight and they released on their own and I disconnected the RABS module. Never had the issue again until I reconnected the module yesterday.

That's not really diagnosis, and doesn't prove there's anything wrong with the RABS valve. Read this page & the NEXT 7:
