Clicking sound from under truck?

Are you sure a buddy isn't messing with you and threw a zip tie around your driveshaft? Lol

I hope you are able to track it down...these kind of issues can be a real PITA.

lol i always use to do that to other guys at my school. they had their parents take the trucks to a mechanic cuz they didnt know what was wrong!!!

Definitely not a zip tie, it's metal on metal making the sounds, super weird! Is there an actuator on the transfer case that takes it in and out of 4x4 that could have failed?

I'm with f150cam, check your front cv joint especially if you turn a corner and the noise goes away as the weight of a turn will load the joint up. My front cv joint was noisy and the left front was shot.

Is it auto locking hubs? I had the same thing it was in the hubs. Check that out, hope you figure it out.

also my u joints were clicking but you couldn't tell they were bad until you dropped the drive line, the join was binding so there wasn't any play, just the needle bearings inside clicking. when i dropped the shaft it was really hard to move the joint.

took down the drive shaft this weekend and the rear u joint was trashed, the needle bearings were shot. Put in a new one and problem solved no more clicking
