Default Cheap (as in free) ways to boost power/mpgs of a 300

Title basically says it all. What can I do to my stock 300 for basically free to get more performance and possibly better mileage?

this thread will teach you all you need to know on how to advance your timing.... i know its a LONG thread, but just take the time and read it.... it has very useful and helpful information in it.... i learned ALOT when i read it and it motivated my lazy butt to advance my timing

after that thread was made, i messaged one of the guys that have a 300 I6, and i asked him how much did it improve the performance.... he told me that it was dangerous on wet roads after he advanced the timing.... thats what caught my attention! lol now all i need is a timing light

you think its dangerous on wet roads now, just wait untill you bump the timing up lol just be sure to thoroughly read that thread....

Just make sure you use the right timing plate, and remove the spout connector. It does help a lot though. But if you advance it too much it'll be worse off... I learned that the hard way. If it wasn't for this forum I'd still be lost on that project.
