Default Rear axle questions

Well my buddy offered me a set of 38" Interco SS's in trade for my 33" Interco Thornbirds. My question is will the welded 8.8 in my truck stand up to the 38's. I use the truck mainly for wheeling, but it is also my backup dd. I already plan on doing a sas so the front is not a problem.

Are you referring to wheels and tires? What is welded in the 8.8?

Tires, and the spider gears are welded in the rear axle, actting like a locker.
