Default Catalytic Converter Removal

I have a '96 F150, and I am working on it a bit, and I have came across a situation where I need to take out the Cat(s). I'm not new to working on my truck, just to this part and am not sure how. Can anyone give me a detailed description or a link to a video on how to do this?

What size engine? I have a 96 with a 302 and the cats are part of the Y pipe. To remove, first unplug the O2 sensor between the 2 cats, on mine, the connector is on the top/side of the transmission, then it's just the 4 nuts on the exhaust manifold studs and the pipe going into the muffler/tailpipe, and a few hangers as well as the secondary air pipe.

I have the 302, too. So it sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to take off and put back on?

Here is the procedure

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the muffler and muffler inlet pipe, if applicable.
  3. Disconnect, if applicable, the air inlet tube from the catalytic converter.
  4. Remove exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter nuts.
  5. Remove the catalytic converter from the vehicle.
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten the exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter nuts to 34-46 N.m (25-34 lb ft).
