Exclamation exhaust emmisions

I drive a 1993 f150 4wheel drive with the 5.8 liter engine. I am moving to texas where there are emissions laws and here in michigan we dont. Up here we cut the cats off but in my case when i bought the truck the exhaust was done for so the cats weren't on there. It has the exhaust that connects together right after the o2 sensor and one cat joins there dual inlet single outlet into another cat my question is since the front cat is gone can i just stack 2 cats back to back a little further down the pipe and if i do that will they get hot enough to burn the emissions off please help and sry for the long post

You don't need 2 cats, factory had 2 different types of cats but you can get one all in one and put it near factory location. See if the auto parts store has a recommended cat for your application, if not get one from an exhaust shop or let them do it.
