Carb Swap
I have been toying around with replacing my fuel injection with a carb setup. I see there are combo kits that have seem to have everything necessary. Are they going to have everything I will need? I am wondering about the throttle cable linkage. Will this be a bolt on, drag and drop, plug and play project?
Here is one example.

Any other thoughts on Carbing my F150?

It's a Canadian thing eh!
There would be so much work to be done you would be better off buying a carbed truck instead. Biggest issue is because you have the E4OD which is computer controlled and using a carb it won't work unless you had a controller for it which costs almost as much as the setup you're looking at.

It's way more headache than its worth. Not to mention e4od will no longer be an automatic and you won't have od also I think you have to alter the fuel pump. Wont pass inspections. Have to deal with the throttle linkage. Constantly having to adjust a carb. IMO keep the efi.
Is there something wrong with your efi system.

And you get all the benefits of hard starting, icing , fuel wash down , rough idle less low speed torque, less high end power, higher emissions and lower gas mileage and shorter engine life.

I was wondering about that, how an E4OD would work without input from the computer. There must be a limp home mode. It is still hydraulically shifted, the solenoids just control when. Moving the stalk still moves the valves to control hydraulic pressure and since OD isn't on the stalk it can't be selected except electrically.
No testing on my part, just thinking out loud.

Thanks for all the input. I don't get why the transmission needs inputs from the engine. I would leave the ECU in place. Is it just that the computer won't know what the engine is doing?
If I do a auto to manual swap at the same time, all is good right? =)
So will the electronic overdrive just not work?
