Can bad VSS cause these problems?
Can't turn off the overdrive.
Push button 4x4 won't engage.
CEL with code 452(vss fault)
Speedometer works fine and transmission shifts smooth.

Just posting a follow up on how I repaired the push button 4x4.
First tried replacing vss at rear differential, no improvement.
Went to a U Pull It yard and pulled dash switch, four wheel drive control module and transfer case shift motor with position sensor attached. Replaced parts in the same order listed and the 4x4 started working after shift motor replacement. Total cost was about $65. The hardest part was finding a donor with the push button four wheel drive.
