Buying Tires
Ok guys I am going to go buy some tires friday for the truck before I run off to rod run and I am curious as to what size tires I should get. I have absolutley no plan on going mudding, or off road on a regular basis, Only time this truck will see mud will be going to my inlaws house that is about 2 miles off road on a gravel drive with some wash out. (Father-in-law is cheap and won't let me help him pave the damn drive) Anyways I am not going to lift the truck or anything like that. I am actually going to lower the rear to match the front. My question is what size tire should I get. I want something big enough that is fills in some of the gap. Right now the truck has all 4 different size tires on it. PO's fault not mine bought it that way. And one of the rear tires is bigger than the other and I am assuming that is what is causing the shimmy, and shake at 65+. But let me know what you guys are running for those not lifted. Also this is a 2wd model. So I was looking at like maybe an A/T or A/S

I'm very happy with my Mastercraft HTR's.....they seem to pull pretty good in everything so far...I will always swear by the BFG Radial TA's though...they pull great for what they are....if you're worried about a 31 then shoot for somewhere around a 30.....a 235/75/15 is roughly 29 inches tall....a 265/75/15 is around 30 1/2 inches tall....I think 362 would be the way I'd go...

For the People
look at my pics, i'm running 31's with no lift to give you an idea. I want to level the front but haven't yet... Tires don't rub when I turn, but my old ones did and they were smaller, just make sure your rims are the right offset/backspacing.

I have the stock rims on the truck and I actually polished them with some chrome polish and they look really good. Like I said I am not going to lift. I am going to lower the bed to match the front if I can. So I guess I will go with stock size 235/75/15. What does a 31x10.5x 15 equal out to? I have no clue when it comes to truck tires. My z71 I handed the mechanic at my old job the keys, and my c/c and let him go pick out some nice big tires. He came back with a reciept for like 350.00 and some huge Maxxis Mudders? And I hated them. took them back that day and got some different ones. I don't even remember what they were But that truck was lifted with 3" body and 3" suspension. But I sold it when the tranny went out. My main goal in tires on a truck is being able to back up in someones yard and not get stuck( happened the other night) but my tires now have almost no tread. I mean if it were 4x4 I would be looking at a lift, and some huge tires, but since it is only 2wd I just want some tires that are good on grip, and a good dd tire that is big enough to close some gap.
