Mine don't work either in my 1990 F150. Replaced the cable and the gear the cable goes into. Worked fo about 3.3 miles and stopped. When it kicks down the moment it stops, the speedometer will jump to whatever speed you're going and stop dead after that. What is up with that??

Remove speed sensor and do a visual of its drive gear thats in the trans. Its plastic or (used to be) and they can get worn in the center and not make proper engagement of the sensor gear.

The 95 uses the vss in the rear end to calculate the speed. In 1990 they used a plastic gear on the transmission and the end of the cable. Check the fuses and the wires that go to the rear axle.

Yes i know about the pastic gear. I replaced that also and after that it worked for 3.3 miles and now when i kick down the engine it jumps a little and that is it. What could be the problem??
