There is no time or mileage limit on calipers. You change them when they break, much like a transmission or engine. Now the fluids to such items, those should be changed at regular intervals.

It's funny ... i've heard other people say that too. A mechanic with one of the hydraulic flaring tools was saying that he was breaking two or three adaptors on every job.

That was the same guy that was extolling the virtues of GM coated tubing though.

The copper / nickel is sooo much nicer to work with. Bought my service kit for about 65.00 $ at NAPA a few years ago and haven't broken a single adaptor yet.

Felt really bad that i had to put the Rigid flaring tool in the back corner of a dusty shelf but the single flares are obsolete now. They don't even use them in propane & fuel oil service anymore.
