I've been gone for awhile and kind of blew off my plans for a truck meet in AZ. I had a crazy move helping other people move in the process but anywho, I'm going to start my 4wd conversion this Saturday. I decided to instead of upgrading the 1/2 ton parts, I'm going to do a 3/4 ton conversion in the process to save money. So this weekend I'm grabbing a trnasmiission (stick). I haven't been able to find the 5 speed or 6 speed that I want but may settle for the 4 speed. I'm also getting the transfer case and rear drive shaft. I figured those would be a good start while letting me start converting and being able to drive my truck. Before I get any of the "just buy a new truck" replies, after research, its going to cost $1250 for the conversion. My truck would sell for about $1400 and a 4wd 250 would cost around $4-4500 putting me at -$3100 which is quite a bit higher than the so called steep cost of 1250. I just wanted to keep everyone updated and let you guys know that I will be doing a 4x4 conversion thread.
