Shop wanted $2300 to regear. Needless to say I will be doing an axle swap myself. Not paying anyone to do it.

Don't forget the 3/4 and one ton are 8 lug so you'll need wheels too

$2300 to install new gears is retarded. Call around and get more quotes.

Still going for the 35's? If paying to regear I'd go straight to 4.10's. You won't be sorry.

I have 33s and 4.56. I used to have 3.55s. It's night and day. I think 4.56 are just right for 33s

You can do the math to decide. Measuring around the tread what % more inches is the new tire compared to the stock one.(or calculate - remember pi R squared ?)
You need your driveshaft to turn that % more times to make your wheel go around once in order to stay in the torque range.
3:55 gears mean the driveshaft will turn 3.55 times for the wheel to go around once.
If your tire is 20% bigger around than the old ones then your gears need to be 20% lower (higher number) or the closest equivalent you can find.
3.55 x 1.2 = 4.26 which in that example 4:10 would be pretty close
What you want is for the motor to go around the same number of times to move the truck 10 feet down the road

I just finished the last math course I'll ever have to take last semester. Give me a couple years of rest and I'll attempt this lmfao

yokes are different, lug pattern is different, 250/350 axles have perches for 3" wide leafs, since your truck is 2wd it only has 2.5" wide leafs. i dont think that matters but im unsure.

axle width is the same.

i just got a 10.25 for my 250 actually (going from 3.55 open to 4.10l)

also the axle code your looking for is C5. that's the f250-350 axle code, and honestly that's what id get a axle out of.
