BLDTruth, just did these over the weekend on a 2wd. It was simple and straightforward. I looked at my Buddy's 91 4x4 the next day while replacing his Radius Arm Bushings and it seemed to be the same process, with heavier components to support.
I took the wheel off, Impacted the bolt and nut, and used a scissor jack to support/balance the hub-rotor to get the bolt out. Then I lowered the scissor jack and pressed the bushing out and in. I did not remove ANYthing other than what I mentioned. On a 2wd, the coil spring/shock acted as the balance point.
Until I took a Dremel and crafted the "driver'", I was able to use the accessories that came with my press to remove the first bushing from the beam. I made the "driver" out of the outside steel bushing from the first bushing I changed; it pushed out straight-forward and in 1 piece. I trimmed the crimp off for a square edge and went to work.
