Default Auto hubs grinding

New purchases 1988 F150 auto hubs grinding at low speed. I added some pics. The hose coming out of the front diff is cut by the brake valve in the frame. Where should the hose hook up?

Right where it is.

But that has nothing to do with the hub locks. Click this, read the caption, & the NEXT few:

Follow the relevant links in the captions. For more info, read all the captions in that photo album.

Thanks for the reply. So what is telling the hub to engage while it’s in 2h? Is there a part in the hub I can remove until I get some manual hubs? Just to get it back on the road.

What makes you think the hub lock is engaging? You didn't describe any diagnosis you had done - just a vague mention of a noise.

If you really think the hub lock is engaging, FIX IT - don't try to re-engineer the truck, or disable anything. DO MAINTENANCE, as those captions describe.

But the noise you hear probably has nothing to do with the hub locks. The locks are not necessary to drive the truck at any speed. You can slip them out, rubber-band a plastic bag over the end of each hub snout, and go for a drive. I bet the noise is unchanged.

And while the locks are out, clean them as those captions explain; and check/service the wheel bearings, as the other captions in that album explain.
