Anyone got tips on fixing my steering wheel

Crownman 10-29-2014 03:34 AM

get an alignment

I eyeballed my caster/camber with the original bushings, just got the adjustable ones and about to throw them in and get an alignment printout, but now the shop wants 35+tax just for the stupid printout. I can use a level and a tape measure to get the caster/camber fairly close to perfect. I, too, was iffy on how to do toe and correct the steering wheel. Found this video and first chance am doing it myself, $35 for a piece of paper? KMFA!

Oh, and pull your codes! I can't handle my CEL being on, even the pic of yours has got me wanting to fix something.

A shop in my town charges 60 for a one time alignment and 120 for lifetime alignment for as long as you have the vehicle for. I would be stupid not to

is your left front tire flat?

Could be a bent tie rod too, my 87 had a bent tie rod and it pulled insanely to the right

Are your tires wearing unevenly? If it's a bent tie rod normally the tires tread will wear like a saw blade. My alignment was off enough to make it pull slightly to the right and my steering wheel was at about 25 degrees like yours, but my tires still wore perfect. So just because your tires don't show it it could still be out of alignment.
