Default anyone know about led's?

i bought some of those 194 led bulbs for my gauge cluster to make em light up red as opposed to green. took the cluster out, swapped in the leds, and when I put it back together I noticed only a few of them were lit up. I assumed, being cheap Chinese crap, that they were just no good, so I ended up testing them, and each and everyone works. so I took em out, made sure they were all tight...even swapped some of them around, and same thing. only the couple bulbs were lit up, so I put all my old regular bulbs in and they all work.

just wondering if anyone knows why only a few of the LED bulbs will work?

sometimes in certain positions the leds will shift out of place which causes them to not work properly...what ive done before is added some thickness to the wires that come out of the led bulbs so that when i put them back into the sockets they are tighter...try that maybe it helps...and also id really like to see your dash in red!

Turn them in the holders 180 degrees, leds being diodes are polarity sensitive, they only work when the + and - are in the right place. Or it could be 194 wiggle bulb, where the contacts never quite connect in the sockets, or lose connection at the first bump.

+1 for Scraptor...
LED's are polarity sensitve so if you remove the ones that are not lit, turn 180 deg. and reinstall they should light up. We did and the cluster backlighting as well as the warning lights and air conditioning controls in our 91 with white led's really brightened things up. we left the turn signal indicators regular bulbs so as not to affect the flash rates....

Used leds similiar to the ones in the pics below.
