My single cab xlt has carpet going up the back. I pulled the carpet back and used butyl cement to attach a 3/8" scrap of plywood to the back of the cab. Reattached the carpet and then screwed the amp through the carpet and into the wood. I used short screws so it didn't go completely through the plywood, but still had enough bite to hold it good. I think it was butyl cement, but could have possibly been the extra strength (yellow) weatherstripping adhesive. That stuff holds good. You might also have luck using gorilla tape. I recall trying to find something that wasn't too permanent. Didn't want to use self-tapping screws or drill into the sheet metal.
