Air in head or manifold 4.9 I-6
I recently acquired a 1992 F-150 with a 4.9. Long story short it needs a new engine. I keep getting asked the question of whether or not its air in head or air in manifold, I know its to do with the smog system but what am I looking for under the hood to tell a difference. Thank you

I think they are asking if the Smog pump air injectors are located in the head or does it come off the intake manifold.. off the head ...you will see little tubes coming off the head by the exhaust manifold..
