Did it have mass air? I have a lead on a truck with a 351w.

Thanks, I am going to call and see what he wants. I want to put a 351 w\ mass air in my F150. I only use it once in a while so I dont really care about mileage.

I'm pretty sure it's not. Even the OBDII '96 5.8 isn't MAF, but I don't have diagrams for '97 F250. California 5.8 '95-'96 has MAF.

my 97 is MAP, i heard they weren't big into MAF on f250s because there rated differently then f150s, thats why even my 97 isn't OBDII. unless like sean said, it was a cali truck. but then again, i got the 7.5l

Thanks, the truck is an hr away, I will call the person, and see if he knows the difference, I hate to travel and look at something when the owner does not know what he has.

most people dont care...

if a 5.8 is what you want then get it... do a MAF conversion... the OBD-II is too restrictive to have even if the truck does have it... you'd be much better off getting a pre-92 Mustang ECU and adapting it over...way more headroom

Thats what I am looking to do, a 351 w\ mass air. I am sure I can dig up the parts, but it would be nice to have a complete donor truck.

okay here is what you need to look for....

89-90 Mustang ECU with Batch Codes of A9P or A9L (A9L is most common) both are used in Auto and Manual configs....

92 and newer they really tightened up the window quite a bit and if you mod anything you might possible need to re-flash the ECU... the ones listed will work with just about any mod and NOT need reflashed... just change injectors and go... there is also a 92-93 Cobra ECU Batch Code X3Z but it is coded for 24# injectors but still relatively tight...although not as tight as the normal 92 and newer ECUs...

those are what you are looking for...if I were you and you wanted something worth having look into that and a Pro-M MAF sensor... prolly 77mm sized...

those 2 are a direct plug and play no modification required for 347/351 engine...on a stock flash for the 5.0

Thanks Dr, this will give me a start if I cant find a donor truck, I was digging around my basement, and I might even have a mass air harness I got at the swap meet a while ago.
