Default Hitch,Winch ??? 96 F150 XLT

Does anyone know how difficult it is to install a front hitch mount? I want to put a winch on my truck. Is it something a DIY'er can do. I have been working on my Deville. Nothing else. How about the wiring for the winch?

Also am contemplating adding some fog and/or driving lights. Anyone know about mounting or wiring. Don't want too spend too much money. Praying I make some.

Appreciate any/all replies

Usually when you purchase fog/driving lights they come with all the wiring you will need for installation. All you may need to do is lengthen some of that wiring.

as far as the Wench...it depends on how serious of a Wencher you will be. I'd suggest doing an Image Search on Google.com for Wench/Wench bumper/Installed Wench...and post here what you like most. You can also purchase a bumper that is pre-built for a Wench.

Maybe pulling small cars out of ditches or retrieving large heavy objects that weigh less than cars, I was looking at 8ooo-12,500lb winches.

Thanks for response

You can get the 9500 lbs winch in a quick mount cradle. Then you would need a 2 inch receiver front or rear with the proper size cables for it. I would recommend getting a solenoid to prevent the cables from being hot when not in use. As for installing the front receiver it is basically bolted on where the front tow hooks or stabilizer bar mounts are.

Stopped by harbor freight tools today to get a ball hitch, and saw they had a universal front hicth mount and 9,000lb winch for 23.99 and 299.99 respectively. About the same as online give or take 50.00 and no waitng.
