Default 96 F150 5.0 engine bogging down

I have a 96 F150 with 5.0 and the engine has been acting funny. It starts up just fine but after about 10 mins of driving the engine starts bogging down every time I try to accelerate. I can turn it off and turn it back on and it runs fine for about 10 mins and then same thing happens again. There is a loud noise (almost sounds like a car has their bass up too loud) when the engine starts bogging. I had it scanned and no code came up. I did a full tune up in September, oil changed recently, all fluids are where they need to be. My dad (who's been a mechanic for 30+ years) is even baffled as to what it is. It's obviously something electrical because when you turn the engine off and back on it resets what ever is messing up but there are no codes with the scan. Any suggestions as to what it is?

No codes? Not even a system pass? You might just need to start doing electrical tests. Check fuel pressure. Stuff like that. Trying to do tests when it acts up.

Not sure but had a Tacoma with the same kind of symptoms and it turned out to be a melted Cat. Plugged up the exhaust. May be an option to check out. Good luck finding it and keep us posted as to what you find.

Sorry it was supposed to say no new codes. There are a couple codes for the o2 censor that have come up since I bought the truck because it has no cat.

Funny... Mines a 96 5.0 with no cats, and I don't have any codes at all.
