Trick for removing box bolts
A lot of stuff can be done a lot easier if the box is removed and it's fairly simple to unhook them. The snag always seems to be the box bolts - at least one or two of them end up spinning and you can't undo them.
They almost come, and then the bolt spins.
I used to grind the heads off stubborn bolts and then get a new one.
Hit on a simpler solution - I got a couple of pieces of flat bar, stopped by the corner garage and had them tack weld the flat bar to the heads of the offending bolts and then undid the nuts. The flat bar just locked against the box.
Ground the weld off after, cleaned up the threads, no problems.
