Hey, I finally made an account because I'm stumped. My 95 f150 started put of the blue shifting hard or not shifting up at all. The speedometer would also jump or say I'm going 0 miles an hour. I have read a lot of forums and tried a few things with no success. So far I have replaced the vss in the rear diff, changed the fluid in the diff and today went to a junk yard and got a whole new guage cluster. It still shifts hard and speedo jumps. I just wanted a second opinion on what I should do next. Ps I have not really checked the wires/connections but that's next once I get home.

Check the wiring harness and connectors for the VSS. Slim possibility would be a damaged actuator within the differential to pulse the VSS on and off. Can't think of the name of it.

Correct. check the connector at the VSS real close
Run a PID on the VSS with a New Generation Star or the forscan app
