Default 95 5,8 stalls and wont restart

I bought a 95 f150 with 5.8 in Feb and was very happy with this old truck. Since weather has gotten warmer the truck will just die, as if I turned off the ignition. Father-in-law suggested to change fuel filer-done. Still stalls out when warmer out and then I noted the distributor cap was loose-re-clipped. Truck stalled out again today, luckily my young son was with me to turn the key so now I know there was no power to the distributor=no spark when I pulled the wires off the cap. Where would I start to look, as I am not mechanically inclined and have few tools. Thanks in Advance.

I would suspect the spark control. Check all your wires, cap, rotor, and wiring to the coil. If all is good you can have the spark control tested at a shop or parts store. I believe your truck has the control on the driver's side inner fender. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Would that be the PIP sensor in the distributor?

No, hes talking about the ignition control module. Its on the inside of the engine bay on the drivers side fender almost right under the hood hinge. Its about 2 inches wide, 6 or 7 inches long, and a half inch thick. Look up 'ignition control module on an auto parts site and it should give you a picture of it. As they go out they can work fine when cold and then crap out once things warm up. I've also had this happen with the main coil, so check it also.

1st, Thanks to all for all of the help.
2nd, It was the ignition control module.
Took the module to 2 different auto parts store which they tested it.
The O' store said it passed on 3 cycles.
Autozone it failed 3 out of 4 times.
Replaced the module and my old gal is up and running again.
Thanks again to all!

Default Jumped the gun

Well I should have driven more before posting that the truck was fixed, it died again and had to walk a couple of miles. Finally got it into a shop and the coil wire was bad. Changed wire and took it on a 100 mile trip, no issues so far. Thanks to all for your help.

boy am I great at jumping. I THOUGHT my truck was fixed, went to drive it around town, made it about 3 blocks and it died again. Mechanic said it was the battery, not holding enough charge to run, battery changes. Tooki it out to drive, 6 blocks this time and it died. I was able to get it restarted in less than 5 mins, MAJOR improvement, but still not good. Drove it to the mechanic and it died in his driveway and would not start. Charged battery and starts fine, unplug the alternator and when battery gets lower than 11.5 it dies, charge battery up to 12.3 and starts fine. Looks like the alternator my FINALLY be the culprit. I will replace it and get back in touch!

Good way to verify that it is the alternator is to start it and then unhook the battery, should keep running, if it dies then it's the alt for sure, sounds like it is. What voltage is it putting out?

I've said it over and over, that is the WORST way to check the alternator. Never ever disconnect the battery with the engine running unless you like fried computers and burned up alternators.
