Exclamation '94 Noise Issues

Ok, I have a 1994 F150 4.9L I6 family owned since it was purchased new in 1994. It has about 136,000 miles on it and was babied for most of them. I inherited the truck from my dad and needless to say I drive a little bit more aggressive then him. I've been driving the truck for a little over a year and within the past two weeks have started experiencing two separate (or at least I believe they're separate) noises:

1st noise started off occurring when I was in reverse. It was a squeaking noise that as I sped up so did the noise until it turned into a dull whine and then disappeared. The noise now occurs both in drive and reverse with the same frequency.

2nd noise occurs roughly between 30-45 mph. It almost sounds like a helicopter inside the cab. It's not as noticeable when accelerating through those speeds as it is when cruising at them.

I'm rather new to the inter-workings of the truck, so any ideas on what might be up would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board.

Do you have any idea where on the truck these noises are coming from? Like front/back and left/right. It could help to identify or narrow down the list of likely suspects. From your description it could be a few things like the u-joints, carrier bearing and/or wheel bearings. We have some very good mechanics here and I am sure one of them will be able to help you narrow it down.

Those suggestions are what I was thinking but it's hard to diagnose a noise from the computer.

Yeah sorry the first noise is definitely coming from the rear, you can hear it coming from both passenger and driver side. The squeak can also be heard if I push down on the bed above either wheel well. The second noise is through out the cab and its actually to the point now were everything is starting rattle/vibrate along with it.

I know its hard to diagnose through the computer but any suggestions are greatly appreciated. It's going in for inspection within the next week or two so I'll have it looked at then, but I'd still like to know a head of what I'm dealing with. Thanks
