actually the airbag module does decide whether or not to fire the airbag...it gets a signal from the crash sensors and then makes the determination whether to fire the bag or not...and if an airbag deploys the module fries...to the OP has your truck ever been in an accident to the best of your knowledge?

We had a steel plate that slid over the steering wheel at the fire department. If we made a run with heavy front end damage and no air bag deployment, we slid the guard over the steering wheel in case it decided to go off with us in the car. Just about every one of our fleet vehicles have air bag lights on or flashing and the air bags still deploy in an accident. Most of the airbag lights are on after the airbags have been replaced. Don't know why, but the airbags are dealer installed after deployment.

I just go by what I know and what the tech manuals and info say

This is the module description an operation from Ford

The module does have a fusible link inside that will blow to prevent unwanted Airbag Detonation. So either way even with the module removed if the system still works or not, I would disable the rest of the system to be safe.

Yeah, there's something a little concerning riding down the road with the airbag light on. I can see the dang thing going off sitting at a convenience store in front of 50 people. Instant viral video! Not! Lol,
I've got to believe that there is something with the computer too. We also have several E350's with the OD light flashing. I was told that the OD light only flashes in Limp Mode and only had one truck actually go into Limp Mode. After 10 years on the road, we have the airbag light, od light and CEL all going at the same time and the trucks run, most of them, like new.

Default airbag module

I disabled airbag in steering column but buzzer still going off. I reconnected air bag wiring and then removed airbag module. No buzzer, but can I leave this module disconnected without causing any more issues? Thanks....subsea10k
