thanks for the tips hackersmovie. ive got long tube headers from flowtech or hooker but found out they only fit fox mustangs so gonna sell them to get me some headers that will fit mine. How do you like the super 44 mufflers on your f150 shawsf150.

Are you sure they won't fit? Some Fox body stuff will work and there is plenty of room in our F150's compared to a Mustangs engine compartment.... Just a though....

No problem on the tips, I LOVE "gear talk", it's my thang...

I wouldn't use the alternator pulley on a stock power alternator. Putting the pulley on it will slow it down, forcing it to work harder to create the same current it made before because it's spinning slower. This will wear out your alt faster than normal. If you have an alt with a bigger capacity for power, then you should be fine.

erm... not exactly how it works....

Yes, the pulley slows the alternator down AT IDLE but, once you press on the gas it will start outputting what it's supposed too. An alternator can't decide or be "forced" to output more or less other than to speed it up or slow it down. There is absolutely no harm in putting the underdrive pulley on the alternator UNLESS, you have a ton of electrical add on's that you will be using at low speed (i.e. a ton of KC lites or a stereo with multiple amplifiers) otherwise, if it's a stock alternator and basically stock electrical system, you'll be just fine. I promise.

An alternator can't be "worn out" any faster than it's life cycle.

Oh yeah! BTW, if you don't use all the pulleys you'll have to get a new belt, they are designed to use the stock belt, if you install ALL of them!

That's just the word from Mustang land. The alts wear faster because they are working harder to maintain a current due to slower spinning. A lot of short drives will drain your battery more, but long ones it's a wash.

(This is from them, I'm just telling what I've read)

Unfortunately, Mustang Land is wrong. Nothing against you but, a quick Google search will back up what I'm saying...

i've got underdrive pulleys on my truck and yes with your headlights on when your idleing you can watch your lights dim and your charge gauge drop but those pulleys have been on there for 3 years and my truck still has the stock alternator, i do alot of idleing down the trails at night and have never had a problem with it, i think the underdrive pulleys are my favorite power mod i've done especially with an open exhaust once you hit about 2000rpms it feels like your hittin nitrous
