So I got myself a job at a local shop and can finally get my truck in to work on it tomorrow as I will be "on call." I've found a few schematics but I have no idea where to even start on this thing. I have been as far as the clockspring on my 94 but what I need to get to is behind that. Any help is appreciated.

Behind the clockspring ? behind that is the column - the multi function switch bolts on the side and the ignition switch bolts on the bottom. What is it you're trying to do ?

There's a retainer/bearing that has fallen apart that lets my steering wheel move around in every direction. I've looked into it and so I just looked for myself and found the remnants of that piece. And sorry for my lack of understanding. Always heard the whole thing referred to as the column. The part is about 1 inch towards the driver from the first u-joint for the tilt function.

Google images - punch in 1995 f150 steering column diagram (or 93, I just know there's one on 95). When you say schematic most people automatically think electrical.
