Question 93 f150 with m50d transmissions problems

i just bought a 93 f150 xlt scab 4x4 with a bad engine.with no time nor funds to do a complete overhaul i bought a used engine. its a 302 to 302 direct swap and i transferred the clutch pack and flywheel over from the old engine after buying a pilot bushing/bearing.i eyeballed the clutch back into alignment but the problem im having is that the m50d transmission will not bolt bolt back up to the engine properly.it gets close but then slides back around an inch or so...could it be a slave cylinder pressure issue or a misaligned clutch issue?

Sounds like the input shaft isn't lining up straight with the clutch, you get can alignment tool real cheap at any parts store.

Thank you that's what it was. we slid transmission back loosened up the clutch aligned it with the $3.50 clutch alignment tool and it worked out perfectly .we also found out that we had 1 of the alignment pins in the block and transmission on the same and they were hitting each other causing the transmission not line up
