Default 1987 F250 Stalls

I just got a '87 F250 with a carb and it starts fine but you have to give it gas to keep it running and even after you let it warm up a couple of minutes it stalls when you go into gear. Eventually it will keep going after a while of stalling and starting again. After its moving it runs fine. Any suggestions?

Well what should i do then, the choke closes but it seems like it opens up too early, is the choke on the holley carb on the 351 adjustable or what should I do?

The fact that it's on a 351W makes no difference....you could take that carb off and put it on a Dodge or a Chevy.....is it an electric choke or manual? Is it hooked up?

yes you can adjust it...if it is electric then it is just a matter of loosening the electric housing and rotating it just a tad tighter...it should be mark Rich/Lean and just move it 1/8in to the rich...you can keep going until the engine bogs and sputters then back it off a little...

as the engine gets colder and older it will want more fuel...
