'92 302 dist. in a '95 5.0HO fitment?

So, I recently swapped a 5.0 from a '95 mustang into my '92. Been having what I believe to be timing problems since. The mustang dist. doesn't really clear the truck fuel rail anyway. I'm having a problem with knocking (detonation). I've timed the motor atleast five times (yes, I had the SPOUT out...). It still knocks bad under a slight load, and when I really get on it to pass someone. I'm trying to swap my original truck dist. into the new motor. I got it in earlier, and when I started the truck, it made an awful scraping-like sound. everything seemed to line up good and I don't think it was a timing problem. Thought? As long as it will work, I'm swapping the dist. whether it helps or not. Any other suggestions?

I could be wrong but i think the 5.0 H.O. has a different firing order. Which you used the stang distributor. The stang distributor is firing correct but however your 92 f-150 computer is still firing your injectors to your truck firing order. Someone please correct me if im incorrect. 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 (5.0L HO and 351W order). 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 (straight 302)

I know the '92 is batch-fire injectors and the mustang should be sequential fuel injection. I got it wired right. Someone on another forum said the dist. gears could be different.
