That's the fuel pump circuit breaker, it trips upon impact to shut off the pump. They trip with just about any hard thump, like flat tires trip them often.

Found out it also trips when you are starting to straddle a couple of large ruts and the rear end slides into them and they're so deep that the back bumper slams down on some tree roots... Good thing I already had some issues with the tripping breaker or I would have been really up a creek not knowing what the heck had happened when it killed on me... LOL

I want to thank you VERY much for all the work you put into this! I have the exact same problem, replaced the motor and switch both. Total frustration, especially when it's snowing like crazy and they keep shutting off but now I know what is wrong! I do electronic work on the side but never figured that it would be something like that.

hey guys, you never did answer jake's (page 4) question, mine does the same as his...I pulled out the infamous blak box and did notice two crack looking solder points, I'm assuming that would be the problem? mine doesnt work on slow or intermittant, and on high, it works then starts to stop halfway through, the battery gauge is jumping abit (which I think happens everytime your wipers wipe anyways). I have to wait til tomorrow. the ****ty thing is I went and searched out threads a month ago and didnt see this one. I've already replaced the motor, went to the junkyard and tried two different switches (which changed nothing) so looks like onto the.....(insert bad guy music) blaaaaaack box hahaha. thanks for the forum guys. saved me a few bucks even though ive already thrown in a bill

Default WCM problems

I know this is an old thread but maybe it will help someone else.was having problems with my intermittents on my 89 f250.long story short,the WCM was located above the parking brake assembly,changed motor and switch but didn't help.I unplugged pigtail from WCM,had to get a non-intermittent switch as the internals are different on the switches,plugged the pigtail in and now I have low,high,and washer.went this route because I couldn't find a WCM anywhere .good luck.

Default 91 F150 intermittent wipers fixed

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions on fixing wipers that work intermittent, because of you I had the confidence necessary to approach this problem. I tried numerous suggestion but none resolved my issue but since I had everything taken apart I noticed that there is a contact breaker switch on the back of my wiper switch. I filed and adjusted this so that good contact was made and my wipers work like new. Thx again for this very useful forum!

[QUOTE=Kajun Taz;325834]Ok, here's the scoop...

Second thing is my problem has been figured out as far as the truck killing and not running. Seems there is a small breaker also located behind the passenger side kickpanel.... I was snooping around and pressed down on the cute little red button and it clicked down and reset... now the truck runs just fine. Guess its a safety in case the fuel pumps short out... it cuts the power to them and I must have tripped it off when I was yanking the kick panel off.

That red button is a kill safety for if you have an accident. It cuts the motor off and the fuel pumps. Like you said easy to reset..

Know this is an old thread. But my 89 has wiper issues also. Works perfect on delay wiper. But low or high, will wipe a few times. Then stop, set a little bit then wipe again for a few wipes.. Also the washer pump is not working also. Going to pull my switch and check it out. Also everything shows to be factory. So sure everything is tired on the wiper system.

Default Wipers problem

What exactly is the name of the control box since the parts store can't seem to find it or figure it out
