Serpentine belt for a/c bypass on 89 4.9
My a/c compressor bit the dust and sounds like it's going to come apart, and the parts stores don't have a bypass pulley for an '89. I figured I'll just get a shorter serpentine belt and bypass the a/c compressor, since the sytem has leaks, and would need numerous parts replaced. It's not worth fixing the a/c, so a shorter belt seems to be the solution. How can I measure to see what size belt I need, and how would I route it without the a/c? Thanks

I just bypassed my AC on a 95 5.0 I bought the bypass pulley for mine. But I did pull pulley off of the old compressor and so long as the bearing is still good you should be able to retro-fit a washer into a space and make the old pulley work so long as you're careful

The seat that the snap ring sat in broke off and I didn't want to ride around with busted equipment. It was an easy enough fix and when I get around to it my buddy will charge my system for free so I just bypassed it for now :/
