Front Sheels squeal
I have 1996 F150XL 4x4. I hear a weird squeal when I am moving. I hear it mostly when I am going slow. I hear it when I have the clutch engaged and I am just rolling. Sounds like wheels. I jacked truck and spun both front wheels and there is a sqeal at low RPM that seems to stop when I turn faster. I took off tire and tried again and it sounded like the brake pad, but everything looked OK. would this squealing be normal at low rpm.
If this noise is normal and ithe noise was coming from the bearings wouldn't I hear it when I turned the rotor?
Any other Ideas as to what the noise might be. Everything seems to be working fine. Just have weird rubbing noise.
Thanks

Is the truck offroaded alot? Check the inside pads make sure the squealers are not hitting on the inside. Check to make sure the backing plate is not touching the rotor.

wheel squeaking
Took off brake and caliper and still get squeaking as I manually turn the rotor. Wanted to look at spindle bearings but when I took off cap the is another silver cap inside with no screws or bolts. Do you know how to take this off. Its not in any of my manuals

there should be 5 of those grooves on the outside of that cap. you can get the special socket at any autopart store and i know checker will rent them or something along those lines. but i would go ahead and just buy one cause if you ever repack your own wheel bearings you'll need it.
