Remember:

Initial timing is set at 10 degrees before top dead center with engine at normal operating temperature and Spark Output (SPOUT) connector disconnected.

hehe, I remembered to set the timing at warm idle with the SPOUT out, it was about 2 degrees off of the rough estimate when i put the distributor back on. it idles better and doesnt have as much of a miss... but it still hesitates and wants to die whenever you give it any gas. now that the distributor has been replaced, it almost feels like a plugged cat.. and pulling the vacuum lines appears to have a low vac even without leaks.

now that I am thinking about it, i do not know why i did not think about a plugged cat before:
hesitation and/or stalling when given any gas
dies after truck has been running for a few minutes
intake backfire
vacuum loss without any found hose leaks
slight pinging once engine has been running for a few minutes

sounds like a cat to me

Hmmm Well I found out today I have a bad check engine light lol when trying to read codes. I was in the mood to check my stator and under my cap in general because I replaced my cap recently with the MSD brass nipple one. The last time I had similar problems so I figured I should check it out. I am getting a lot of build up or corrosion of some kind and pitting on the contacts and rotor tip. Sort of like greenish white hard stuff and I have to scrape it off the tips. I dont know why its there? Is my coil putting out to many amps or volts IDK thats new too! I will do a coil test tomorrow! When this happened before, I did a tune up and bought the best I could with MSD because I thought it would last and not corrode like the last cheap autozone cap! I also use electrical grease on the tips of the contacts and rotor contacts to reduce heat and help continuity. Is that bad? Well all and all after I disconnected the battery to reset any codes I restarted motor and let it warm up until operating temp and pulled her out of the shop for the night. I did not drive her but 20ft but revved the motor twice and she sounds way better. I will know for sure tomorrow after work if it drives me home again.

Well Still Runs like garbage! I cleaned out my throttle body and Air bypass valve no luck. Put my EGR solenoid back in and still nothing. Unplugged MAP and ran worse. Could not get a clear code reading with analog meter so I have to fix the light in the dash if its burnt out in order to get a code reading..
Tomorrow I am gonna check my Air Charge Temp sensor and Engine coolant temperature sensor next. I found some voltage readouts online for ACT. And location.
I will be sad if I have to take the intake off because the next thing is fuel injector problems. I could have one or more not opening or shutting.
I dont have money for gaskets so the truck will be down for some time because I dont have a job cause of Obama so I cant afford a thing!

Buy a Carb and forget the headaches! My next GOAL!

Sorta Solved I hope!
Well last night I Removed my ACT sensor and it was a great big ball of sludge at the end of it completely covering the sensor. I cleaned it and tested it using a volt meter and a light bulb to watch the volts drop as I apply heat. 2.8vdc @ 70 degrees F. Also cleaned temperature sensor and checked voltage drop and accuracy. About the same readings as ACT. Also I checked the timing and it was 10* BTDC. I reset codes and prayed for the best. WOW! My truck started like crap until it warmed back up and the computer could relearn and now I am back to running condition like it was at least. YEA! Not perfect like I wished but drivable like it was. Im not running my EGR vacuum and air pump and still getting hesitation from the line like before this happend but at least its not surging and missing hesitating throughout throttle range or while idling anymore so what I did I believe helped a lot. Not sure why it still hesitates at first but that might be because of no egr or air pump. One day I will be able to punch it I hope and have it run like a mustang lol I hope lol... For now shes slow off the line but power is back for the most part and I can drive it again same as before.

Well it was the F-ing plugs! I had 6 month old autolite platinum plugs so I was not thinking they could cause this issue. I finally had $20 to spare and I purchased the Original Motorcraft Copper Plugs and OMG does she run like she used to! I can now Drive it again! I am so mad at those platinum plugs I will be emailing a complaint! She will still hesitate a little only if I floor it from a dead stop but quickly she realizes I am punching it and to MOVE / Light um up lol! I am so happy after all that it came down to the plugs. I think the hesitating when I floor it is cause I am not using a air pump or vacuum to my EGR or I have dirty injectors. I bought a upper intake gasket set and will be cleaning my injectors with a vibrating ultrasonic jewelery cleaner soon. After I clean the plenum and put it all back together I will post the pics and story asap!
