'87-'91 Clear Headlights
1 Attachment(s)
So I'm sure all you brick nose drivers are aware that the aftermarket for this front end sucks, right? Yeah, thought so. So I decided to take on a little project here to custom make some clear headlights. It only cost me a 7 dollar sheet of Lexan and the balls to rip off a headlight lens... What do you guys think? I can't get over it, to me it's like it changes the whole front of the truck into something modern!

Lexan is a clear plastic that's supposed to be like 250x stronger than glass. And should stand the test of time and not yellow and oxidize

Have you considered a front clip swap to open the aftermarket options more?
|
Looks good! Any problems with moisture getting in?

Scratch that question, just saw your other thread on it...did you use clear silicone or what?
|
That looks real good. Nice work.

I'm pretty sure he's going to. At least, that's the last I heard. So he can do the pre runner fenders

This is only prototype #1, but I'm hoping I'll get the seal done well and not have to worry again. @65Mechanic - It's actually not too expensive to do. At worst, pull 2 headlights from the junk yard. From what I've seen (taken off multiple lenses), if there was no moisture build up, the reflector is still gonna be perfect. It's like 60 bucks for a pair of headlights in my local yards. |
