Looks good. I think I heard that lexan scratches easily. What have you seen so far? And how is light dispersion without the directional ripples in the lense? What bulb are you using?

Yup, I'm still leaning towards a front clip swap to '92 so I can run the pre runner fenders, but until I have the cash for that I'm just playing with my brick nose. If I can make it nice enough I might scratch the pre runner idea... Money haha. If I can be just as unique and have spent a fraction of the money, why not?

I've been using clear silicone this time around, and so far I have the lenses sealed into the chrome trim, but not onto the truck. That will be happening tonight. Wanted to make sure the silicone had it's full 24+ hour cure time. As it sits I'm testing for leaks by filling the lens area up and watching for where any water comes through.

This is only prototype #1, but I'm hoping I'll get the seal done well and not have to worry again.

@65Mechanic - It's actually not too expensive to do. At worst, pull 2 headlights from the junk yard. From what I've seen (taken off multiple lenses), if there was no moisture build up, the reflector is still gonna be perfect. It's like 60 bucks for a pair of headlights in my local yards.
I didn't even think about scrap yards. I think imma try that. I may go with some heavy duty glass if I can't find lexan.

I'm a little late to the party in this thread, but i'm here now. Did you guys know there is actually a website that sells clear corners for these trucks? It's hard to believe, but I discovered it a few months ago and bought myself a pair. Been meaning to make a thread about the recent things I've done to my trucks, but haven't got around to it.

Anyways, here are pictures of them. One is before I got the amber bulbs.

I had an hi/lo HID kit in mine. Light pattern is definately a lot different! It's far more focused to the center, much less light on the sides. I'd say that side lighting intesnsity is about par with stock lights, except still much wider (due to my HIDs). I don't think I could suggest it with stock lights, put I'll throw my regular pair back in and see what happens.

So far after my night of driving, no scratches or anything but I don't know really. More to come on that front. I've only had them fully installed for tonight so far.

I saw them before. and from what I've seen, looks like a good product too! That will probably be my next front end investment if these headlights stand up to some abuse!

If you've got a fine tooth hack saw, dremel and a dremel with those small cut off wheels, you can very easily!

I got the lexan from Lowes, and they cut it for free. So I took my lens in there and had them cut it to size. All I have to do what just trim a tiny bit off 2 corners so it would sit down inside the bezel perfect. Well, technically I cheaped out. I got "Optix" which is just a little weaker than Lexan. So instead of being 250x stronger than glass, it's ony 10x stronger. Cost 7 bucks for the sheet and the cutting was free. And from the sheet I was able to get 5 lenses. So I have 3 back ups. Meaning I may do this again and do a set smoked

I urge you though, get a second pair of headlights to do it to. Mainly because I can't tell you if the beam pattern is any good at all with stock headlight bulbs. I have a feeling it's not very good, but can't say for sure yet. But also if you have driving lights on the truck already, it's nothing to worry about anyway

I understand. From the ebay prices I've seen on new ones there's no way I'm cutting up mine. I bought new ones when I first got the truck but I should've kept my old ones. But these new ones are still wayyy new. But cool. I'd like to know what that optix stuff does when you try and clean it. Seems like anything that's like plexiglass would just kinda stratch up with hair line brush lines. But it may not be bad.

$175 each headlight assembly at AutoZone. At least they're available new though.

How do the edges look?
