What is your secret?? I have a '96 F150 5.8 4x4 standard cab short bed with 140,000 miles and I'm lucky if I get 10 in town and 12 on the highway! I have a K&N air filter, currently running 31x10.5 all terrains. About to get some 32x11.5 m/ts and don't even wanna think about what my mileage will be like then...

94 5.8 4x4 extended cab short bed, stock mags and tire size, I don't have town and hwy sperate but on my last full up I averaged 13.8 but I need to reset my computer (high idle issue that's resolved) and I think it will go up a tad. No mods.

I get about 15 on highway, 11-12 in town. 351w. My 7.3 powerstroke is a different story. I'm getting about 19 in town with just a tuner. I wish we could tune these old 351s. My buddies 12 valve cummins, he has a bunch of mods to it, he's getting close to 32mpg. With 500 rwhp

I filled up when I bought my truck b/c I had a 250 mile drive. It was windy and the interstate speed limit was 70mph so I wasn't going under that much and it was hilly up and down. I didn't expect much going that fast plus up and down big hills. I haven't checked it since then b/c I've been putting in 5 gal at a time b/c the front tank guage doesn't work BUT the mileage on the way home was a measily 12mpg. I would suspect it might get 15 if I'm lucky and driving under 70 on flat ground w/ not a lot of wind.

been getting around 12 with mostly city driving, on my recent move from so cal to nor cal I averaged just under 17 cruising abot 60, this includes the ride over the vine, was very happy, truck seems like it is hitting its grove

For a unknown reason at this time I'm only getting 12.5 both city and highway. I'm being told it's the ethanol, but I was getting closer to 18 highway last year. 30% sounds a bit much to lose over a skosh of ethanol.

1994 F150 XLT 5.8L 2wd
1994 5.8L RWD Auto (E40D) Dual Tank (20 & 18 I believe)
303,XXX miles
Completely stock, mostly original
87 octane (no eth)
Keep both tanks full, when one is empty I switch then top both off within a day or two while still drawing from the mostly older tank.
13.9 in town
16.2 highway
Usually in town I drive like an old man because I use my truck to carry lawn care equipment. Highway it's usually CC set at speed limit +5mph and the highway mpg was taken before I changed my plugs/wires/rotor/cap/coil/cleaned TB a month or two ago. This beast don't usually get out on the highway because I have plenty of vehicles that get decent mpg to use for longer drives.

My lightning gets around 13 city 17 highway, and it's a little built. But once you get on it you can just watch the gauge needle go down, I think they're good on gas mileage for what they are, IMO one of the best engines ford made.
