Default 4x4 question

So my truck has the push button 4x4 and I cannot get the Low range to engage. The truck was converted from a automatic to a manual. (Not sure if that has anything to do with it.) So I replaced the push button module and still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That could make a big diference.. IIRC, the trucks have to be stopped, in neutral, with the brakes on, to shift into low range. Seeing as you probably still have an auto computer, it may not see that you are actually in neutral on the manual trans

So what could I do about it to make it register that I am in neutral?

Do you still have the automatic transmission harness under the truck? Do you know hat transmission you had? If so you could splice into the harness and install a neutral switch (either push button or toggle switch).

Check the door tag, should have a transmission code on it.

Okay, so believe U is for the 4R70W. Now if you still have the harness in place under the truck, you should be able to splice in a 2 wire switch to mimic the transmission being in neutral if the MLP (manual lever position) switch was still there. Should be an oval connector with 8 wires to it. Now I'm not 100% this will work but its worth a shot.
