4.9L six cyl fans, what's your MPG?
#72
For the past year mine doesn't know what MPG means more like gallons per weekend , but when it was my driver it'd get 8-13 in town and 13-18 on the hwy with a rare high of 21-22 (all hwy 55-60). 91, 300, 5 speed, 4x4, 3.08 gears on 32x11.5x15 tires

I have worn my 31's down to 235's now, so I'm back at 12MPG city, haven't gone on the highway much, but I got 21MPG on the highway with the size difference no complaints from my truck! Also have about 350lbs of kitty litter and crap over the axle for winter right now

Looks like this thread's old but hopefully not dead yet. I got 18.13 mpg on my last 100 mile (city) highway run. I'm looking at filling up and doing a 100 mile country highway test this weekend at a steady 60 mph to get a best-case benchmark. She got 12mpg on the 1st tank I ran after I got the truck about 2 months ago so this is a 50% improvement (lots of ignition work + new parts, carb rebuild, exhaust fixes).
1984 F150, 4.9L, 1bbl Carter YFA, 2WD, 130,xxx - don't know rear end gears (stock I suppose) - C6 tranny (I think? 3spd + OD).

It's a manual tranny - AOD is automatic, right? Apparently not stock then? Like I said, 3 spd. + 4th which feels like an OD but I can't testify to it. I've worked on all sorts of cars over the years but this is my 1st truck.
