reading the comments section of the actual video, there is absolutely nothing done to the truck. he simply made a manifold, and put a 7.3 turbo on the truck. no tuning, no intercooler, and for the oiling system these are his words "I just removed the oil pressure sensor and took a line from there to the turbo the had it drain into the valve cover."

who knows how safe this is, but I seen this video a while ago, and with a pretty good knowledge of turbo kits, I'm going to defiantly try this one day for ****s and giggles and see how it turns out.

they say 7 psi without a wastegate to regulate so its probably not spooling very quick

7psi would definitely make it Rate a lot faster than it should be... especially with no bed on it... I call Shenanigans....

Lots of tantalizing info around for this subject....I'm going to do this on my next build. I'm thinking that a supercharger would be better though. These engines don't like RPM's and as posted above it will take some serious money to lighten the reciprocating assembly enough for a turbo. I'm thinking custom built ported head beffed up bottom end and custom wideband fuel management injection system. E85 makes perfect sense for the built in intercooling! Methanol injection is far too $$$$ for the street but it keeps boosted engines from coming apart ...lol. I've been talking to some local turbo heads down here but they all play with high rpm ricers so I'm trying to find someone local with Supercharger experience. my Mustang was built by a pro but he's 1000 miles away from here and he laughs at me for wanting to boost "that old tractor motor!"

i'm definitely going to build this...just have to get it all worked out.

EDIT.. I saw all those videos. The no bed one made me LMAO. Redneck Rampage!! i'm thinking of a much more eloquently designed and implemented system...lol. Maybe, you know, something I could actually drive around w/o needing a tow truck escort! This CAN be done w/o breaking the bank! it can also be done so that you can still use the damn truck! I will watch your thread and I will post my findings as I get things together....

Find out what your buddy is smocking and then ask where you can get some.
A 20 year old I 6 is not a great engine to hot rod and for the cost you would be well served to find a better powerplant to build.

Maybe you should Google Frenchtown Flyer and then repost...

he thinks it's a great engine to Hotrod beings He was a Ford Engineer and developed quite a few parts for the 300-6 and runs an 8 second 1/4'r mile Rail with a 300-6....LOL
