Default 4.6 swap questions

I have my 94 f150 2wd and have been thinking about a motor swap. I also have a 01 mustang gt that's rotted out. The thoughts are put the mustang motor and trans into the 94. My idea was to swap the wire harness from mustang to the f150. All that just with wiring would work. I have no idea of the fabrication of the motor and trans mounts. If any one knows of any mount kits that would help. If I posted this in the wrong spot sorry about that

I think 1995 was the first year for the modular in the F150 which you missed by a year. That would have made the swap a lot easier. All the modular engines have the same mounting dimensions as far as I know.

I was looking into the year that Ford first put them in. Looks like 1997 was the first year for the mod motor in the f150. When the body style changed

The modular V8 was not introduced in a f150 till the 1997 redesign. The motor mounts of the 4.6L will not match that of a 302 nor a 351. I dont think the trans in the '95 (probably a E40D) will work with a 4.6 either. The 4.6 is a totally different design from is predecessors. I wanted to do a 4.6 swap on a '95 302 but it was gonna be a pain and expensive. The 4.6 I had was from a '98 f150 with 58k miles

Waaay to much work to justify the result - it would be much easier and cheaper to replace the 94 motor with one that bolts in.

if he has a 302 than a 351 will be easiest route. forgot to mention earlier that the 4.6 is a big block and I think the 302 is a small block

The very first 4.6s that came in the Lincoln Town Car has the same bolt pattern as the SBF, but it was changed shortly thereafter if you want to retain your current transmission.

LOL no its part of the later modular engines - if he meant 460, then yes, that's a big block.

No, the 4.6L is literally the first modular engine. 2V in the Town Car in '91, 4V in the MkVIII in '93.
