Default 351 Header Q/A

Okay, I need new exhaust work on my 5.8...has anyone put on those "shorty" headers and how hard are they to install. I have found them online for around 180 to 220 bucks. I have about 105K...and the truck runs great. Thanks in advance...

I put those on my truck over the summer and it didn't take long. I mainly did it after work and if you subtract the time used for getting all the tools it could have probably been done in the better part of a day. They weren't too bad to put on. The only real trouble I had was attempting to back the original bolts out.

Whatever you do dont buy cheapies...its worth buying a good set that are ceramix coated, that brings the underhood temps way down and it keeps them looking good for years. Get good header gaskets too, my headman long tubes came with crappy thick paper gaskets, bout 1000 miles later a part of one blew out and leaked like hell, felpro is the only way to go.

Thanks for the info...see, that is what I thought, go with the better one because of the heat issue.
