302 GT40 intake swap - EGR help
I have a GT40 intake from an Explorer laying around so Im considering putting it on my '95 F150. Any power gain I can get, especially low end, will be very useful. What Im wondering is what you do for the EGR when you swap to a GT40? I dont want to remove the EGR b/c I dont want a CEL. What are my options? And for the IAC and TPS it looks like the ones on my F150 should bolt to the GT40 I hope.

Yep - any comparisons I've seen show the truck mani having the best low-end torque. Any of the others have their torque and HP loaded toward the higher rpm range (some past the rpm that you'd normally see on these trucks).

I do know the mustang intakes and most aftermarket intakes will make power higher up, I thought I read somewhere on the net though that the GT40 was decent gains all around since it still had longer runnners. Any power I can make from 1500 up would be great, the truck isnt too bad around town with 33's, but when I tow my car or tractor its a pig! On my mustang I know induction mods really helped my low end. Im looking for any bolt-ons that will help. I have removed the cats and put a high flow muffler on. Im probably going to bypass the smog pump, install an electric fan, and maybe get some underdrive pulleys. Moving to 4.10's are an option but with 4x4 it gets expensive.

i know this is an old thread
but i've thought about doing this too. i've got a 5.0 from a mercury marquee that has the HO intake on it. let me know what you figured out if you did it i'm curious!

Well I personally would not use an HO intake because it will definitely hurt lower end. I'd only use that on a 2wd truck bui;t for speed and higher rpm's. I need low end on my truck to move the bigger tires and help with the occasional towing.
